The WineTots spend a day out at the beautiful historic Boschendal farm

Bare tree branches frame a white building with "Boschendal" text. A mountain looms in the background under a clear blue sky.

Glasses hang inverted on a metal rack outdoors against a blue sky and bare tree branches. A small logo in the corner reads "Winetots."

Just what a mom needed, a day of downtime at the spectacular, historic Boschendal 1685 farm, while the kids were being looked after and educated at The Tree House.

Sip on one of their alcohol-free fruit cocktails or fantastic winetails!

Salad, skewers, and an orange drink on a wooden table outdoors; coffee and cake on another table with park setting. Text: Food & Drinks @THE WERF.

While the kids were at The Tree House, I was tasting Boschendal’s excellent Playpen range which is their experimental, small-production wine range. I particularly enjoyed the reds; the Petit Verdot 2015 was exquisite- one of the best I’ve tasted!

Nature abundant in the vineyards with the Simonsberg watching over them

If you dine at The Werf restaurant or stay in one of their beautiful cottages your kids can be checked in at The Tree House where they’ll be fully taken care of.

Wooden cubbies with hats and boots on top. Chalkboards with names hang on each. Framed cactus art above. Warm, organized setting.

Sign reads "PLEASE SLOW DOWN! FREE RANGE CHILDREN AND ANIMALS" in a park. Trees and grass surround the area, conveying a peaceful mood.

At the Tree House, the exciting new edu-play centre for kids aged 4 - 14yrs, they will learn about where their food comes from and how to care for their environment and world. They will also explore their creativity and discover how to create unique upcycled art pieces using natural and recycled elements.

Outdoor garden setting with logs and a stone circle in the center. Mountains and trees in the background under a clear blue sky.

The kids foraged for their lunch ingredients, made their own wraps and braaied their free-range beef boerewors on the open fire with their newly made friends while I was being treated to some wine.

Playground with wooden structures and a child sliding down a green tube slide. Sunlit trees in the background. Sign reads "The Tree House."
… and, of course, some play time at the wonderful play park at The Tree House.

Children playing indoors near a wooden structure, surrounded by wine corks. Text reads "13 July 19" and "Boschendal" with a wine-themed logo.

The Werf Restaurant focuses on farm-to-table dining using the best available local, seasonal and ethically sourced ingredients.

Vegetables and greens in a refrigerated display. Carrots, lettuce, and root veggies in bags. Neat arrangement and fresh appearance.

Wooden sign for The Werf Restaurant, chalkboard with daily dishes, and menus on a table. Outdoor setting with trees and diners.

The produce on their menu is sustainably grown on the farm and in The Werf Food Garden. Other ingredients are mostly sourced from farms and small producers in the surrounding Winelands.

Wineland Sunset Spots

Definitely one of our recommended options for capturing the sunset glow in the Cape Winelands!

Bare trees with glowing lights hang in a park at dusk. Text reads "Boschendal" in cursive. Circle frame with a calm, rustic mood.
