Ladies’ Dinner Club: A Taste of Thailand

Updated: Jul 19

After dreaming about it for ages, I finally kicked off our very first Ladies’ Dinner/Cook-book Club; and what better way to start than with a lively Thai menu inspired by my recent travels to Thailand!

Summer rice rolls and Thai cashew veg salad on a table with five wine bottles, an ice bucket, and dipping sauces. Text reads: Ladies Dinner Club, A Taste of Thailand.

The evening was a celebration of connection, flavour, and fun with colourful dishes that tasted as good as they looked. From fresh summer rice rolls bursting with crunchy veggies, sesame seeds and edible pansies, to flame-grilled chicken skewers with peanut sauce, zesty Thai curry, crunchy chicken lettuce bites, and Thai salad with cashews - every bite a throwback to Thailand.

We ended on a sweet note with Karoline's (Instagram @flavamingo) incredible vegan pink Khanom Chan layered coconut jelly dessert accompanied by a zesty sorbet... the perfect finish to our tropical journey.

Three images of Thai pink layered coconut jelly desserts on plates, one with a raspberry, and one with sorbet. Background shows bottles of wine and blurred table settings.

These delightful dishes were paired alongside infused waters, coconut juice & select local Cape wines - Anthonij Rupert 2024 Terra Del Capo Pinot Grigio, Haute Cabrière 2023 Chardonnay Pinot Noir, Aan't Vette Syrah Blush, Badsberg 2024 Perlé Moscato and Alvi’s Drift Chardonnay Pinot Noir MCC.

Bottles of local wine, fruit infused water, and coconut juice on a counter with glasses, set against a large window and vase of flowers. Natural light illuminates the scene.

Cheers to a wholesome ladies evening full of laughter & stories, and to the next dinner where we’ll explore dishes from another region of the World, sharing stories, food & wellness tips and most importantly having fun!
