With the travel bug having bitten once again, it was time for my mom, my sister and I to board for our next adventure - this time to the tropical paradise of Phuket, Thailand!

Our journey was nothing short of magical! Our wonderful week-long adventure & yoga retreat, coordinated by CC’s Hideaway, was a vibrant blend of movement, relaxation, nature, and cultural immersion - the perfect celebration for all three of our birthdays, including for my mom’s 80th year!

We kicked off our island escapade with an unforgettable discovery tour of the Koh Yao & Hong Islands on Day One, with a calming cruise through Phang-Nga Bay on a traditional long-tail boat, with limestone cliffs and turquoise waters setting the scene.

Landing on the gorgeous white sand beach of Hong Island where we sunbathed and savoured a dip in the warm, crystal-clear waters.

From there we took a boat to the island of Koh Yao Noi, where we ended our afternoon savouring a stunning selection of traditional Thai cuisine next to the beach set in the mangroves.

Day 2 took us deeper into Thai culture with a temple tour and trek of Old Town - including a visit to the iconic Big Buddha and a nourishing organic lunch at WeCafé.

We reflected on our busy day with a serene sunset beach yoga session…

What a privilege to soak in the ancient Buddhist architecture and lively local culture of Phuket!

Day 3 was all about flavour with a hands-on Thai cooking class complete with an organic farm and market tour - the results were as tasty as they were educational!

After discovering a variety of Thai herbs, veggies and spices, we got to cooking authentic Thai classics at the Prana Eatery.

Day 4: We spent the next day exploring the rainforests of Phuket through the 4 Waters Eco Adventure, starting with a tranquil kayak paddle through dense tangled mangrove rivers...

Followed by a hike through the local tropical rainforest national park and wildlife sanctuary, and ending with a bath under the Ton Sai Waterfall.

We finished off our wonderful water venture with a stunning sunset on a remote hot springs beach resort after exhilarating dips in the hot spring and ice-cold pool (my first ever!) followed by a dinner at Fashi Café.

Day 5: Friday started with morning beach yoga before heading on our Lookouts Tour of southern Phuket, where we experienced Rawai, Phuket from its most breath-taking vantage points, reconnecting with the island’s wild beauty.

We ended our tour on the hills above Kata Beach with a farm-to-table lunch at the Green Heart Garden – nutritious, colourful Thai cuisine finished off with an impressive, refreshing flavourful fruit juice… what a treat!

Day 6: The next day was filled with even more adventure as we took on the 4 Elements Trekking & Zipline Adventure - an exhilarating journey through jungle canopies and forest trails, navigating the island from high above.

We wound down on the soft beach sand, sunbathing in the cool ocean breeze before savouring a dish from the local food stall, bold, enticing flavours filling the air.

Day 7: Sunday was a visit to the ethical Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, where we learned, observed, and shared space with these gentle Asian giants in a respectful and unforgettable way.

We ventured Thailand’s longest canopy walkway, viewing the elephants in their natural habitat, and even got to feed them fruit!

Our final day was the perfect end to our Thai trek – buffet breakfast, morning aerial yoga, a quick dip in the ocean, a final fabulous Thai massage and one last visit to the local market stalls for some gift shopping before heading to the airport.

Thank you to you all for making our ladies getaway so magical - we couldn't have asked for more special treatment and being 'mom-ied' all the way!

Why not treat yourself to a yoga, wellness and adventure retreat at CC's Hideaway's boutique hotel with their fabulous service, refreshing pool and yoga decks surrounded by jungle.. serving the freshest, healthiest Thai cuisine and curries!

Next, we head further south to the land down under – Australia... also for a little bit more wine tasting in the Hunter's Wine Valley. Stay tuned!
