Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival 2026 - 20 Years of the Plettenberg Winelands

What a treat to celebrate Plett Winelands’ 20th anniversary at The Plett Wine and Bubbly Festival at Kay and Monty over the long weekend!

While SA's larger wine regions often steal the spotlight, Plett has quietly built a reputation for producing exceptional award-winning cool-climate wines, particularly MCC, focusing on varietals like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir & Chenin Blanc to create crisp, expressive white wines and elegant sparkling wines.

Three wine festival scenes with hand holding branded glasses of sparkling wine and red wine, bottles and ice buckets in background.

The newest vineyard on our block, Whiskey Creek, was also there launching their new range of fabulous MCC, including a Rosé MCC, Chardonnay Blanc de Blanc (my favourite of the day) and a delicious, rare Chenin MCC made by Master winemaker Anton Smal.

Live music by Nomadic Orchestra band!

Lots of fun was had by all tasting their way through the Plett Wines on a beautiful Autumn afternoon with the day ending as the sun set over the mountains with the Nomadic Orchestra band!

It was such a pleasure spending time with friends and reconnecting with local winemakers Anton Smal (for Newstead, Kay & Monty, Demesne and Whiskey Creek), Sollie Sauerman (for Packwood & now Bitou), and Jaco van der Watt (Lodestone & recently Bramon too) hearing the stories behind each bottle, and celebrating just how far the Plett Wine Route has come since its dawn at Bramon.

Cheers to two decades of Plett wines, and many more celebrations to come!
